A leading boutique Environmental and Communications practice working in public and private sectors with its corporate headquarters located in Oakland, CA and with offices located in Northern and Southern California, seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is a proactive leader with a proven track record for financial planning and reporting, budgeting, projections, accounting, project management, cash management and inter:action with related administrative services of the firm. The CFO reports to the CEO and serves as a key member of the Senior Management Team. This role includes active involvement in the Companys strategic and financial business planning, financial and related operational management, ownership transition planning, leadership development and succession, incentive compensation plan and other important programs essential to the firms success.
The CFO works with the CEO, Directors and firm leaders to ensure the practices continued strong financial performance. The CFO must be action oriented, have the ability to think conceptually and strategically and be able to identify problem areas and opportunities to proactively provide alternative approaches and recommended actions. Candidates must have the demonstrated ability to properly account for historical financial performance, establish effective policies for management of the business and client projects, and to place a major emphasis on meaningful projections so that the firm is constantly anticipating the future to maximize Company potential.
It is essential that the CFO work effectively to lead the financial function with an understanding and appreciation for the services provided by the firm, Circlepoints core values and culture, clients served and other aspects of the practice. This includes providing training, guidance and direction to managers responsible for financial and related operational activities within the firm. The ideal candidate will be a person that can think and act strategically and be proactive, while being comfortable with hands:on controllership and staff assistance to support growth.
Education, Knowledge and Skills Required:
:Bachelors degree in business administration with an emphasis in
finance/accounting. An advanced degree in business related areas is preferred.
:Government contracting experience in a planning, A/E or similar company with a good working knowledge of FAR and agency audits.
:Seven years experience directing financial and administrative operations within an architectural, engineering, environmental planning or related field.
:Experience with Deltek Vision financial software highly preferred.
:Ability to direct and coordinate the activities of managers and staff in all financial and related administrative areas; to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and graphically both internally and externally.
:Ability to work as a key member of the firms management team with focus on maintaining the firms financial and cultural health.
