Job Description Summary/Objectives The controller will have a strong business sense for strategy and operations and is responsible to direct the financial affairs of the organization. This person will have a strong NETSUITE ACCOUNTING background to both Work hands on and Coach and teach the current Accounting and Sales management teams to create a complete flow chart for the financial analyses of operations, including interim and final historical financial statements with supporting schedules, as well as financial and cash flow projections, for the guidance of management. The Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, , the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation of financial reports, tracking and managing performance to expectations, preparing budgets, forecasts and other financial models, management of gross margins, integration of acquired entities and books of business and other responsibilities. The position is a hand’s on role and also involves supervision over a small staff to provide general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary & Inventory controls. The right person will lead the organization’s operations, focusing on client satisfaction, process improvement and growth. This location requires someone with an Entrepreneurial Spirit who believes once they learn and understand the business can apply their skill set to Scale this location and become a partner in the operation. Essential Functions Firm Leadership Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. 2. In charge of Rental and Service, contracts for Leasing and Rentals with Service Contracts 3. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department. This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives, and may recommend that personnel be hired or removed from the Department. 4. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets. 5. Coordinate and manage accurate Inventory. 6. Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. 7. Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, and analyzes and reports variances. 8. Is responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes. 9. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary. 10. Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions. 11. Evaluates and recommends insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. 12. Commission Plan modeling 13. Is capable of executing strategic objectives and maintaining internal controls as the company changes and grows. 14. Provides management with real time and accurate cash flow reporting. 15. Are a proactive leader and thinker, anticipating and providing solutions to issues and capturing opportunities. 16. Strong grasp on labor time management. Financial Performance Works with the CEO to establish a operational and financial plan for that achieves the organization’s financial goals, including expenditures, revenue goals, and staff productivity goals. Supports and advises the CEO in decision making. Monitors the organization’s profitability, budget performance, and revenue per engagement. Oversees business policies and Accounting practices. Develops and manages financial reporting including the NetSuite dashboards and other metrics to help Drive Revenue and perfrormance Authorizes expenditures and purchases within the budget and gains approval for any expenditure outside of the budget from the CEO. Supporting Operations Leads business combination process working closely with the CEO. Oversees risk management and legal activities: letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements. Manages business insurance: procurement, monitoring and management. Works closely with the various departments to constantly improve all client deliverable, make sure tasks are completed timely, and provide support. Identifies and approves technical resources required. Uses technology and learns new software or technology applications as adopted. Staff Development Mentors and manages to establish accountability. Develops and delivers the Financial goals to help drive performance outcomes. Competencies · BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major · 5 + years Advance level with NetSuite experience is a must · 5+ years of experience in financial and accounting management · 2+ years of experience in insurance brokerage financial and accounting management · Demonstrated experience and ability to use Applied Systems Agency Management and Accounting System software · Excellent computer skills · Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Company Description Big Joe Handling Systems is the leading supplier for sales and service of Industrial Equipment and Storage systems used in the Warehouse and Distribution centers for the past 60 years.
