Electrical DesignEngineer -

Duties and responsibilities Participate in product development team as the electronic design and engineering design resource Generate and revise electronic system requirements to meet device development goals Design architect electronics and perform PCB layout for a clinical prototype, working closely with Industrial Design, Mechanical, Firmware and R D Engineering team members Lead sensor and component selection decision making process for design changes and to achieve performance and cost targets Perform risk assessments and subsequently design mitigation solutions to achieve required risk level through all phases of development Debug, tune and refine hardware iteration s in preparation for prototype development schedule, working concurrently with established engineering team Perform routine analysis of test results in relation to design specifications and test objectives Define test cases, guide test protocol creation execution and prepare publish verification reports Support efforts to verify and validate new product designs

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications include: BS, MS EE, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years developing electronic systems for consumer devices Familiar with ISO13485 and FDA design control processes, as they apply to device development in the medical industry Proficiency in creating, reading and understanding schematics Proficiency with rapid development of functional prototypes Proficiency with Altium Digital, low-power, battery power, and EMI design knowledge and experience Proficiency with Cortex M series MCUs Proficiency with I2C, SPI, and other device interface buses Expert in debugging and trouble-shooting Track record of successful design and test for EMC and EMI compliance Track record of successful design and test of products to CE and IEC60601 industry standards, or equivalent. Job Description Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to work on site in Pleasanton, CA Preferred Candidate Qualifications: Battery management charging electronics for medical devices Experience designing low noise instrumentation electronics Experience with sensors temperature, pressure, flow Experience developing electronics for consumer devices Experience with BTLE; track record of successful design and test for FCC compliance
