Job Description:/h3:
The graphic designer directs, develops and produces visual graphics, whether for print or online, to fill the creative and branding needs of all departments at Life West.
:Manage the graphic design process from concept to completion
:Translate marketing objectives into clear graphic design strategies
:Ensure visual communication standards are met and maintains Life West branding integrity on all visual materials
:Oversee graphic design pitches and proposals
:Meet with in:house marketing team to discuss and explain graphic design strategies and solutions
:Design visual graphics including identity, publications, marketing collateral, signage, direct mail, event collateral, advertising, digital graphics, etc.
:Manage flow of graphic design projects from a variety of campus constituents and to communicate effectively with campus clients on project scheduling, flow, revisions, approval and project updates.
:Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
:Plans concept by meeting with campus contact if necessary and studying information and materials.
:llustrate and present concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts and specifications.
:Obtains approval of initial concept by submitting rough layout to contact.
:Collaborates with marketing coordinator to collect and/or prepare content included in project.
:Works directly with contact to proof and make revisions to design and content.
:Prepares final artwork for printer, webmaster and/or other venders.
:Works with project coordinator to acquire quotes and complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, printers and other service providers.
:Maintains assets in campus cloud based storage archives.
:Maintains technical knowledge of software and design skills through tutorials, attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies, etc.
:Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
:Prepares reports and outcomes for strategic planning.
:Assumes additional responsibilities, performs special projects, and assists with other duties as needed or requested.
:Exhibits student centeredness in performance of all job duties.
:Treats all others with respect; understands the impact of culture/background on the behavior of others; respects differences among the Life West community and demonstrates inclusive behavior.
:Anticipates, listens to, understands, and responds to campus contacts needs. Delivers work products and services to contact in a way that reflects positively upon the department and the college.
:Bachelor degree in graphic design, marketing, design or related field.
:Minimum two years of experience in graphic design.
:Prefer experience in project management and communication.
:Must have excellent knowledge and skill using Adobe Creative Suite.
:Must have ability to work independently in a complex environment with a high level of accuracy, reliability, and collaboration.
:Strong attention to detail.
:Familiarity with web design is desirable.
:Requires a balance of technical, clerical, and artistic skills.
:Ability to be flexible and learn the variety of tasks.
:Ability to work with and communicate with others at all levels.
:Occasional weekend and evening work is required at college events.
:Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
:Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set:up and maintain work files.
:Work performed in a general office environment.
