We Care Services for Children helps change the lives of families with children ages 0:6 who are at risk for experiencing life:impacting developmental and behavioral health challenges. We offer a wide array of targeted, effective, and compassionate services designed to meet the individual needs of each child:
:Early intervention services via our inclusive classrooms, state preschool, and developmental playgroups;
:Mental health services provided in the home and in our clinic and classrooms;
:Individualized, coordinated, family:driven wraparound services; and
:Mental health consultation for the licensed childcare community in Contra Costa County.
We Care is currently seeking a Mental Health Child and Family Therapist (Spanish:Speaking) to join our team. Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Mental Health Director and Clinical Supervisor this position provides infant/child parent psychotherapy and clinical case management services to children ages 0:6 years old and their parents. The clinician designs treatment plans for these dyads based on her/his clinical assessment of client needs. He/she maintains treatment records and appropriate billing for services in accordance with program expectations and EPSDT Standards. Family Therapists participate regularly in clinical staff meetings as well as agency:wide meetings and take responsibility for clinically related activities as assigned. Being able to communicate with clients proficiently in both English and Spanish is a requirement for this position.
Direct Service:
:Receives referrals by phone and conducts intake procedures as directed.
:Initiates contacts with clients and referral sources to determine appropriateness for therapy services.
:Assesses clients to determine diagnosis, treatment modality and interventions, with clinical consultation as needed.
:Provides dyadic, play and family therapy and conducts collateral sessions with significant support persons as needed.
:Provides therapy in the home, community and/or office as appropriate.
:Provides case management, such as linking clients to community resources and/or coordinating contacts with other service providers, including, but not limited to, Wraparound, Schools, Social Service Agencies and other mental health providers.
:Participates in case consultations with other We Care Services for Children treatment team members for all shared cases.
Administrative Responsibilities:
:Maintains an appropriate caseload and meets program billing goals as determined by Mental Health Director.
:Maintains appropriate client files in alignment with agency and funding standards.
:Prepares files on a yearly basis for EPSDT Utilization Review.
:Documents billable services according to county guidelines.
:Attends all agency staff meetings and designated training events.
:May be asked to carry staff responsibility for agency special events or other projects.
:Performs related duties as required.
Skills Required:
:Candidate must be bilingual: PROFICIENT in both Spanish and English
:Knowledge of early childhood development and mental health and the ability this knowledge to relationship:based infant/child:parent psychotherapy.
:Ability to accurately form initial diagnostic assessments, and to work under pressure of crisis and emergency situations.
:Ability to establish initial therapeutic alliance and convey parameters of treatment of infant/child psychotherapy.
:Knowledge of multi:cultural communities and family support concepts.
:Ability to exercise good judgment and work independently on a day:today basis clinically, legally and ethically and to consult with supervisor when appropriate.
:Must have working knowledge of all laws pertaining to mental health in gener
