RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the ROP Principal, the Teacher provides instruction and training that is realistic in terms of current and future work specifications in a specified career field. Specific duties in this area include classroom instruction, clinical supervision, curriculum development, design of individual student program, evaluation of progress, and maintenance of student attendance and performance records. Additionally, the Teacher provides an organized, disciplined teaching atmosphere wherein students can learn effectively; develop and maintain training plans, including specific performance objectives; utilize other resource staff and the business community to assist the students in achieving their potential and reaching individual program goals; develop internships and modify curriculum and internship assignments to meet student needs. CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENT * Possess appropriate California Single Subject Credential OR * Possess or qualify for an approprate California Designated Subjects Vocational Teaching Credential. General qualifications for the Designated Subjects credential include 3 years work experience in the subject matter OR a combination of work experience and appropriate college units in the subject matter. Detailed requirements are listed on the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website at www.ctc.ca.gov/credentialinfo/topics/designated.html ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT To perform services in categorically funded program under provisions of Ed. Code Sections 1294.5, 44910, and 52301. This is a temporary position contingent on sufficient enrollment meeting budgetary requirements. Employment will not count toward the service necessary to attain permanent status with the Contra Costa County Office of Education. These teachers may be released due to insufficient enrollment.
