Job Title and Objective
Lead Electrical Technician
Safely operate test equipment to perform validations and repairs on railcar equipment, electronic, computer, electrical, and mechanical controllers while adhering to production schedules. Interpret electronic, electrical, and mechanical schematics/drawings with the ability to identify components. Perform repairs and installations using manual and power tools. Work on wide range of electronic equipment, computer systems, and mechanical equipment with the possession of strong analytical troubleshooting skills. Perform automated and manual testing on circuit boards, computer systems, HVAC/Galley and high voltage mechanical equipment. Interact with other departments and customers to assist with specific task completion, failure/root cause analysis, and quality issues. Follow all electronic, electrical, and mechanical safety requirements.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
:Adhere to established safety procedures in the Mare Island Production Facility.
:Proper use of PPE while preforming daily tasks.
:Validation, repair, and testing on electronic, electrical, voltage contactors, switches and computer systems.
:Use, operate, and repair of electronic test equipment
:Use, operate, and repair of high voltage AC, DC power supplies, and inverters.
:Assemble and repair electrical and mechanical systems: wiring, connectors, contactors, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
:Validation, repair, and testing on HVAC and Galley equipment.
:Assemble and repair HVAC and Galley systems: brazing, solder, wiring, and terminations.
:Capture, save, and interpret failure logs.
:Interpret electronic, electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings.
:Working with compressed air and pneumatic tools and equipment.
:Use precision measuring devices. Operate osciliscope, voltmeter, megger, chart recorder, high voltage DC and AC power supplies.
:Safe use and operation of power tools to include but not limited to: drill, drill press, chop saw, angle grinder, and table saw.
:Safe use and operation of hand tools to include but not limited to: wire crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, wrenches, torque wrenches, files, and socket sets.
:Repair 120 / 240 / 480 / 750 VAC equipment.
:Operate overhead crane, forklift and scissor lift.
:Familiar with Microsoft Office.
:Any and all other duties as assigned.
