Sr Proc Devp Eng Tech Transfer
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Process Development Engineer, Technology Transfer, are to:
:
Manage projects and schedule technology transfer activities;
:
Support completion of deliverables as per schedule with Tech Transfer Lead and Receiving Unit counterparts;
:
Interface with Receiving Unit Tech Transfer, Operations, and Engineering teams:
:
Act as SME for purification process and operations for biologics products;
:
Review engineering design of equipment and facility for process and product impact;
:
Evaluate proposed operational process changes as part of the change management process;
:
Train Receiving Unit personnel in process science and operations;
:
Support development of a training schedule to ensure adequately trained personnel are available for start:up activities at Receiving Unit;
:
Support creation of curriculum for varying levels of training required by Receiving Unit;
:
Execute training plan for Receiving Unit;
:
Support Training organization in evaluation of milestones and KPIs;
:
Travel to Receiving Unit as necessary for knowledge transfer, personnel training, or to ensure project deliverables are met (this can include travel for workshops, meetings, and start:up activities);
:
Travel internationally to train Receiving Unit operational staff as needed;
:
Assist the creation of Receiving Unit operations documentation;
:
Perform SME technical review on relevant documentation;
:
Ensure timely evaluations of any proposed operational changes through change management process;
:
Provide support during Receiving Unit startup activities;
:
Take short/mid:term assignments at Receiving Unit to support startup activities;
:
Collaborate with SMEs within Sending Unit to facilitate information exchange and to clarify operational procedures;
:
Work is complex with a need to challenge existing business processes or create new ones in order to ensure project deliverables are met;
:
Author source documentation and create systems for multi:site manufacturing and technology transfer;
:
Act independently and define path to success, based on timeline and resources;
:
Think strategically to mitigate timeline risk in the project.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
:
B.S. and 6+ years of experience, M.S. and 4+ years of experience, or Ph.D. and 2+ years of manufacturing experience in pharmaceutical operations, preferably biotech or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
:
Experience with cGMP requirements in Biotech production;
:
Familiar with the concepts and experience with the Technology Transfer of Biotech products;
:
Understanding of the quality systems preferred (e.g. ValGenesis, Basics, SCORE);
:
Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage complex activities in a timely manner;
:
Strong analytical skills to identify risks and prepare balanced decisions;
:
Effective presentation skills and ability to adjust presentation style to accommodate various audiences;
:
Knowledge of project management methods and tools;
:
Ability to effectively communicate with cross:functional and cross:site partners to maintain compliance requirements and meet production goals;
:
Good coaching skills;
:
Willingness to learn German;
:
Ability to travel up to 50 for lengths of up to 3 months
