BottleTaps, the newest addition to the Pleasanton and Tri:Valley craft beer and dining scene is hiring for an Executive Chef.
BottleTaps is a craft beer Taproom and BottleShop located in Pleasanton. BottleTaps will have a complete selection of all Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) beer styles of which there are over 120 in addition to some red and white wines, hard ciders, meads, and Kombucha. Our tagline, Craft Beer Experience, highlights our intentions of not being just another place to drink beer but a place to experience it. To do that, we are looking to pair all of our food items, with beer styles that create a great balance and unique flavor combinations. Focusing on house made charcuterie and small plates, pickled and fermented foods. BottleTaps will have an eclectic rotating food and beer menu opening an exciting opportunity for the right Executive Chef.
Ideal candidates will have:
5+ years of Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef experience
Proven leadership traits.
Flexible schedule with ability to work 50+ hour work weeks, including nights, weekends, holidays.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
A passion for food, beer, wine, and the hospitality industry.
Ability to contribute to a wide variety of management tasks and operations beyond the kitchen; including marketing, private party organization, community outreach, staff recognition programs, staff education programs, and much more.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel; proficient with standard POS and CRM systems (specifically Revel is a plus)
Ability to pair foods with appropriate fermented beverages.
Extra consideration to those who possess:
Prior Gastro:Pub experience.
Experience with new restaurant openings.
Previous experience with small plates.
Strong beer and wine knowledge. Cicerone or Sommelier preferred. Cicerone training will be required after hire.
Efficiency with Google programs (Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Drive, Sheets).

Regular responsibilities include:
Menu development.
Ingredient sourcing.
BOH scheduling, labor, and payroll management.
Upkeep of current industry trends and product knowledge.
Opening and/or closing duties of the restaurant as a whole.
Product inventory and purchasing.
Hiring and management of staff performance
Staff leadership in the kitchen specifically, and all outlets of the restaurant
Day to day functions with vendors, purveyors, etc.
Updating food menus to website
Handling of staff concerns or incidents.
Direct management of all kitchen staff.
Successful and cordial collaboration with FOH staff and management.
Executive level reporting to ownership.
Additional tasks as needed

Owner has been a brewer for over 25 years with extensive customer service management experience and co:owner has been in the restaurant/nightclub management business for over 35 years. We live and play locally and are looking to bring a new vision of craft beer and other fermented beverages to our local community and beer fans from farther away through a large selection, friendly knowledgeable staff, and exquisite food and beverage pairings.
