Warehouse Supervisor
Mettler-Toledo Rainin, LLC is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Distribution Department in our Oakland, CA facility. The Warehouse Supervisor is primarily supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom or warehouse, by performing the following duties. Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
+ Supervise staff by overseeing attendance, determine work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
+ Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
+ Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
+ Ensures ISO 9001 compliance.
+ Supervises order fulfillment area. Oversees domestic and international orders to be filled and shipped correctly; will call for rate quotes and selects carriers and prepares required customs documentation.
+ Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels. Audits shipments to IBA and East Coast Warehouse, supervises movement of finished product from production to sterilizer (IBA) and from production to bulk locations.
+ Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates, e.g., Monthly Warehouse Productivity Reports, Punch Detail etc.
+ Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
+ Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
+ Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported nonusable, slow moving, and excess stock.
+ Schedules work for special and periodic inventories (cycle count and monthly physical inventories).
+ Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Maintains record of receipts of materials and expense items.
+ Issues written instructions per ISO for level three documents.
+ Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
+ Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
+ Adjusts errors and complaints. Initiates daily communication with Customer Service to advice of shipment status.
Minimum Requirements
+ Applicants should have the following minimum requirements:
+ Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-Year College or technical school; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English.
+ Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations.
+ Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English.
+ Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office), ERP (SAP preferred) software experience
+ Logistics/supply chain certification desirable. APICS a plus.
