He also lived in New York City, where he wrote the bulk of THE ANCIENT BOOK OF HIP. He once went five days without eating anything. He hopes one day to meet J.D. Salinger. About the guest readers: Truong Tran is the author of four books of poetry and one children's book, most recently "Four Letter Words" on Apogee Press. He is the winner of the SFSU Poetry Book Center Award of 2002. Tess Patalano received her BA in Creative Writing from Hamilton College. She received her MA in poetry from San Francisco State University. She struggles with the idea of becoming a professional anything so holds solace in nothing.
