There are many sensations that arise during labor and birth and many different ways of coping with them. Movement, breath, visualization and vocalization are all important and useful tools in the birthing process.
In this workshop you and your partner will learn: ~ Optimal fetal positioning and the importance of movement in childbirth. Couples will practice getting into different positions and doing exercises to help prepare mother and baby for labor and birth. ~ Various comfort measures including counter-pressure, light touch and massage. Couples will practice these techniques and learn what types of touch are appropriate and when to use them. ~ Hypnosis for childbirth; a brief introduction to hypnosis and how it can be useful and effective during childbirth. ~ Proven pain-coping practices; these practices help couples to develop a pain-coping mindset. Couples will be given time to practice and offer feedback. About the Instructors: Audrey Muto: Birthing From Within® childbirth educator, birth doula and yoga instructor.
